Small leaks can be costly!

Start with regularly checking for leaks. Write down the water meter’s level at the beginning of a period during which no water will be consumed and check at the end. There should be no difference. Regularly check the water meter’s level.

  • A dripping tap consumes 4 litres of water per hour or 35 cubic metres per year.
  • A thin flow of water results in 16 litres of water per hour or 140 cubic metres per year.
  • A malfunctioning flushing tank of the toilet is costly too : 25 litres per hour or 219 cubic metres per year.
  • A jet of water may easily consume 63 litres of water per hour or 552 cubic metres per year.
  • A malfunctioning water softener can waste thousands of litres of water per day.

Multiply these lost water volumes with the price per cubic metre and you will see your bill amounting to hundreds of euros.
